Staff and Leadership

AmyBoydAmy Ryan Boyd

C.E.O.
Camp Name: Zuni

My career began at the Columbus Zoo in 1983 as a summer day camp counselor. The Zoo education department was just getting started and they wanted to begin a preschool program to help young children understand and develop affection for animals. With this instructive, I was given the opportunity to create the, now infamous, ZooKids program. The program began with one child and has influenced thousands for the past 25 years. I loved what I was doing and, as such, accepted additional responsibilities. I was soon directing Summer Experience Day Camp and in 1990 became the Education Director at the Columbus Zoo. In 1992, after overseeing the public experience at the Panda Exhibit, I accepted an invitation from the Fort Worth Texas Zoo to become their Education Director. It was my good fortune to have influence and oversee the construction of the Gloria Lupton Tennison Education Center.

In 1995, my husband David and I were married. Our first child, Eddie, was born in 1997. I resigned from my position at the Zoo to stay home with our son. Two years later, our daughter, Aubrie, arrived. The desire to return to work beckoned and soon an opening occurred at Camp Fire USA First Texas Council, in Fort Worth, where I was Vice President of Outdoor Programs and Facilities. In 2004, my husband and I decided that we wanted to raise our children in Columbus Ohio. Since I valued my Camp Fire work experience in Fort Worth, I pursued opportunities with this organization. When the CEO position opened up at Central Ohio Council, it was a dream come true.

January 2009 begins my fifth year leading this organization. I know how fortunate I am to work for a dedicated board of directors, lead a very committed, stellar group of volunteers and staff. I truly believe in what Camp Fire stands for and what great value we offer families and growth potential for children in the Central Ohio area. Indeed, I’m honored to be the Chief Executive Officer of this growing and vibrant council.

Along with my Camp Fire responsibilities, I’m currently serving on the American Camp Association Ohio Section Board as Secretary, President Elect for Northwest Kiwanis and Co-Chair of the Executive Leadership Strategic Alliance, Camp Fire USA.

Lisa Graham

Club and Council Administration
Camp name: Twitch

My history with the organization began in first grade. I was a “Blue Bird” and then a “Camp Fire Girl” before boys were allowed to join. After Highschool I continued my involvement by acting as a Camp Fire Leader. I had two clubs that I was in charge of in the 80’s and 90’s. I was involved with one of these clubs, kindergarten through twelfth grade. Now I am

a leader once again with my son’s club. I have enjoyed watching him learn from and love Camp Fire as I did as a child.

In Twenty years as an adult volunteer I have helped with many endeavors: Camp Otonwe, Camp Wyandot, council events, jr. counselor training, Ohio State Fair, club recruitment and leader training. In 2007 I was given the opportunity to join the Central Ohio Council team as a part time employee. I now get paid to recruit clubs, train leaders and plan council events. I am a self proclaimed “Camp Fire Geek” and I love every minute of it! My Husband Rob is even getting into the act by volunteering at our Bead Fair and Spring Skills events.

CHUCK

Facilities Director / Caretaker

I’ve been with Camp Fire for 41 years. I can’t imagine sitting in an office so I putter around camp fixing what I can. I love to fish. I live right across the road from camp, so if you ever need anything, come by and let me know.
